Huntington Beach California Skate Parks

There are three free public skate parks in Huntington Beach. The best, most popular park for tourists in Huntington Beach is Huntington Beach Skate Park in front of Huntington Beach High School. Skate boarding is one of Huntington Beach's favorites sports activities. There are even wave boards, large carved skateboards designed to provide a similar ride to surfing.

Annual events and competitions that include skateboarding in Huntington Beach are US Open of Surfing and Beach Games, usually held the last week in July, Core Tour in September, and Van's Triple Crown of Skate held usually in September.
    .

You'll find Huntington Beach Skate Park near the sign for Sheue Athletic Field. To get there from the pier, you need to go approximately two miles (or less) down Main Street. After passing the intersection of 17th Street, you are nearly there. It will be  on the left side of Main Street before you reach the Yorktown stop light. (See map right)
Skate parks are open daily from 7 AM to 10 PM, no lighting. On Golden West Street near Warner Ave., Murdy Park Skate center has concrete undersized banks, ledges, and a little room to push. Free to public, rules and regulations posted at facilities.

On the other side of the Garden Grove Freeway at The Block in Orange, Van's Skate is the largest skate park in the world, featuring an 80-foot vert ramp and extensive indoor street course.

Van's Skate Park Sessions run all day with 2-hour sessions. The skate park requires all skaters to wear protective gear- knee pads, elbow  pads, and a helmet. All skaters must sign a release form prior to skating in the park. Anyone under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present to  sign the release form. If a parent or guardian is unable to be present, the form must be notarized.
