A significant portion of the surface water is held in Lake Mission Viejo, an
artificial lake stretching approximately one mile from Olympiad Road to
Alicia Parkway along Marguerite Parkway.
Demographics
Mission Viejo is a suburban city located in Orange County, California. It is
mainly residential, although there are a number of offices and businesses
within its city limits. The city is planned and features a very large number
of single family homes, some condominiums, a college, and a regional mall.
Education in the city is provided by two school districts (Saddleback Valley
and Capistrano Unified School Districts), six high schools (Mission Viejo,
Trabuco Hills, Silverado, Capistrano Valley, Mira Monte, Pathfinder High
Schools), a college (Saddleback College), and a number of middle and
elementary schools.
Mission Viejo has numerous parks; there are about two per square mile. A
private country club also exists.

The lake is frequently stocked with a variety of fish. For current stocking

Beaches
There are two member beaches and a number of private beaches for use by
lakeside residents.
Playa del Norte features a sandy beach area, volleyball courts, a playground
and snack bar. Playa del Este has a playground, snack bar, group picnic
area, fishing area, basketball half court and horseshoe pits. Playa del Este
is open daily during the Summer
