Huntington Beach, Calif.-Huntington Beach Markets and Fairs include two regularly featured events in downtown Huntington Beach, Farmer's Market and Art-afair on Fridays, and farmer's market and street fair on Surf City Nights in downtown Huntington Beach on Tuesdays.

Voted the most scenic outdoor California certified farmer's market in Orange County ,  Friday Farmer's Market features flowers, fruits, vegetables, nuts and a variety of exciting gifts and goods to buy and enjoy.

This event gets almost as many people wanting to participate to sell their handmade items as attendees. That's just how much artistic and crafts talent there is in the region!  While there's a list of procedures for being admitted into the event, and often a waiting line, the outdoor crafts and food fair is extremely popular with tourists seeking to buy souvenir gifts unique to the region. Not to detract from the excellent downtown stores offering a wealth of goods and services, the farmer's market and art fair features items that are made by the people selling them, and made right here in California.

Held Fridays from around noon to dusk (dark), the event is held at Pier Plaza on the north side of the Huntington Beach Pier, 315 Pacific Coast Highway, Huntington Beach, CA. Rain may cancel event, but as you know, rain is rare in Southern California. There is no fee to attend, and they don't allow dogs to be walked inside the several rows of shopping area held in a parking lot and stone plaza.

Where to stay: Right across the street overlooking this event is Shorebreak Hotel. It's beach themes, Zimzala restaurant, and views of the Pacific Ocean and Huntington Beach Pier make it a top selection for accommodations.

The Surf City Nights event is a street fair atmosphere with vendors cooking foods over grills, popcorn and beverage carts, live entertainment, and vendors selling a variety of products all along and Main Street, which is closed for the evening of entertainment. The street artists play guitars, perform acrobatics and dancing, make balloon art that they sell to parents for children, and sell their CDs of their musical entertainment. For the little kids there's usually at least one bouncy house and a toddler motorized train ride.

Surf City Nights is sponsored by the Huntington Beach Downtown Business Improvement District which was formed as a nonprofit organization to promote and enhance the downtown district which is a multi-use area that includes shops, dining, bars, music, homes and hotels.

Currently these are the primary markets and fairs that entertain the public and offer foods and gifts for tourists and locals to purchase.
