Company History:
In February 2004, Clara and Alicia D’Autilia purchased Pacific Dance Center Studios in Huntington Beach,
and set out to make their life long dream come true: to train dancers in a professional, caring, and safe
environment; to promote the art of dance; to make ballet accessible to all; and to provide dancers and
choreographers of all ages with the opportunities to dance, perform, and create. In December of that year
they presented their first Nutcracker, an abridged version consisting of Snow Scene and Second Act.
In March 2005, Coast City Ballet (CCB) was born, and received 501(c)(3) non profit status in April of the
same year. A young, small company, CCB is comprised of dancers ages 10 to adult. Since 2005, CCB has
performed throughout the Southland and Europe, participated in fundraising events for local charities and in
community outreach programs, including Arts OC Imagination Celebration, and Festival of the Children,
has presented dozens of original works, and won prestigious national and international dance awards.

CCB’s co-founder and artistic director, Clara D’Autilia has been dancing since the age of three. Has studied
locally and abroad with Maestro Ruben Chayan, Dudley Davis, Olga Ferri, David Wilcox, Steve Sirico and
others. She has dance nationally and internationally, performing soloist and principal roles in among others,
Cinderella, The Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet, as well as several ballets created for her. Miss Clara has been
teaching since 1990. Dancing is a vital part of her life. Teaching, developing new choreographies, and
sharing her love for dance with her students are her passions.

The mother-daughter team believe that all dancers, beginners to semi-professionals, children to adult,
deserve the opportunities to dance and have their moment in the spotlight, they remains true to their
mission. CCB’s The Nutcracker features dancers from 3-year-old pre-ballet students, to professional adults.
Many of CCB’s dancers have grown alongside the company, this year’s Clara made her Nutcracker debut as
a tiny Polichinella. The young dancers are thrilled and privileged to dance alongside their moms and dads,
three generation of one family have danced together on stage!

Coast City Ballet continues in their endeavor to bring ballet and dance in all of its forms to children of all
ages and from all walks of life, so they too can 'Experience the Magic of Dance!
