Train Song Festival at Old Poway Park is a unique daylong event featuring live performances with songs inspired by the history and culture surrounding railroads..  Train rides, train "robberies", train-related vendors and displays, arts and crafts, food, storytelling, and children’s entertainment all make for a themed event sure to wet the whistle of anyone who loves the sound of a train.

To add to the excitement and fun of this train celebration, Poway Midland Railroad will sell tickets and offer rides aboard aboard a 1907 Baldwin Steam Engine train!  The Poway Station Model Railroad Club will feature prized model trains in Templars Hall, and there will also be an historical train display in the Heritage Museum.

Old Poway Park’s very own western gun-fighting teams will provide authentic train robberies and historical re-enactments.  For the kids, there's face painting, train crafts, storytelling, and toy train displays.

The finale to this great train event is Railroad Movie Under the Stars. This will be held at 7:00 p.m. The railroad themed movie (appropriate for all ages) will be projected onto the Old Poway Park Gazebo. It's truly old-fashioned fun in Old Poway, where history lives on. Popcorn, hot cider, and other refreshments are available for purchase at the movie showing. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs to enjoy this community-inspired, tourist-friendly offering from the charming city of Poway in San Diego County. The events are sponsored by The City of Poway and San Diego Folk Heritage.
