Surfing Sunday Event Brings out the Great Surfing Bands to Huntington Beach

On Sunday October 5th, 2008 The Surfin Sunday Finale Concert Took Place In The Parking Lot Of The Huntington Beach International Surfing Museum. More Than 100 People Were In The Crowd Watching The Festivities Take Place. The Two Bands That Played Were Norm And The Surf Rockers And Glasgow Tiki Shakers. Also, The Surf Guitar 101 Held A Reunion At The Same Time. Dick Dale The King Of The Surf Guitar Was At The Concert As Well As Local Surf Legend Robert August. Robert Pulled The Name Of The Winner For The Surfboard Raffle Contest Which Was Local Resident And HBISM Member Marc Wittwer. Chris MacDonald The Community Ambassador For HBISM And Huntington Beach Mayor Pro Tem Keith Bohr Honored HBISM'S Events Director/Secretary Linda Miller For All That She Has Done This Year Planning The Concerts. She Received A City Proclamation Signed By Mayor Debbie Cook. Congratulations Linda On Your Well Deserved Honor. I'd Also Like To Mention That Huntington Beach Host Lions Member Lee Love Had A Fundraiser Barbecue Going On During The Finale Concert And Raised A Lot Of Money For The Surfing Museum.
