 Marines 3/11 Run/Walk, 2nd annual fundraiser begins at Beach & Pacific Coast Highway, heads for HB Pier, then back to start/finish line. Cost: $35/person.

Huntington Beach 3/1 Marine Run takes place at Huntington City Beach at Beach Blvd. & Pacific Coast Highway. 200 runners ranging in age from 5 to 80 years ran or walked a 5k beachfront run to compete for medals and to help raise money for the city's 3/1 Marine Foundation.


Put together by 33/1 committee members Cindy Cross, executive director; Dave Sullivan, chairman; 

Members included: George & Donna Cross, Phyllis Nichols, Domenic Iorfino, Pat Rogers, Lloyd Skaggs, Kay Bergdahl  Suzanne Beukema and Margaret Nerio

Also volunteering to give out winner medals were Miss Huntington Beach, Kate Brewster, and princesses


Matt Liffering from HB Channel 3 Public Access Community TV recorded the event which will appear on Surf City Highlights program. 


Randy Lyford from the Huntington Beach International Surfing Museum contributed his 1950 woody station wagon to the event festivities.


The event was held on a sunny morning and began  with Marine exercises such cadence and the Huntington Beach Fire Fighters Association cooking breakfast to raise money for the nonprofit. The public came out to support this important event which is planned to be an annual event.
