ANGELS CAMP - Jumping Frog Jubilee and Calaveras County Fair. A popular contest based on Samuel  Clemens’ trips to the Gold Country region that inspired his published work, “The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County”, about Jim Smiley and his frog Dan’l Webster. CLEARLAKE
- Catfish Derby. Largest Catfish Derby west of the Mississippi includes a grand prize of a boat and accessories! Goes through May 16. Sponsored by the Clearlake Oaks Glenhaven Business Association, entry fees are affordable for three days of fishing. Ranging between $10 and $50, kids 15 and younger can enter for around $10/each. CORONA - Koroneburg Old World Festival. Meet hundreds of family members living, working & playing in Southern California’s only permanent Renaissance Village! Visitors to this 1450-1600 European Village are entertained, discover fine arts and crafts, and enjoy delectable food and beverages. The setting is the fictitious estate of the Baron Heinrich Von Lauffer, located along the Rhine river (aka Santa Ana River) between Mainz and Strasbourg. Each year the Baron invites the finest minds and most talented actors to celebrate the coming of spring at his Barony of Koroneburg. COSTA MESA - West Coast Rockabilly Showdown - Brian Jay and the Last Call Boys perform at noon, Amber Foxx at 1 p.m. and the Hi Lo Trio at 2 p.m. The Showdown concerts and swap meet admission is FREE with the donation of a canned food item for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. FULLERTON - Muckenthaler Motor Car Festival. The 15th Annual event revs up with hot rods and cool custom classics followed by world class vintage and exotic beauties in a Concours d'Elegance on Sunday. Also take a look at the crowd-pleaser Hudson featured in the movie Cars, and a special gallery exhibit featuring Pinewood Design ‘10 and artwork by Cliff Cramp and Don Derler. A live performance of bawdy pre-WWII songs by the stunning Janet Klein and Her Parlour Boys will be held on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., along with plenty of amazing automobile attractions. SACRAMENTO - Carried with Courage Historic Flags. The California State Capitol is home to a remarkable collection of nearly 50 flags dating from the Civil War, Spanish American War and World War I. SANTA BARBARA - Santa Barbara Sea Festival. Santa Barbara celebrates the bounty of the sea May 1-15 during the 10th Annual Santa Barbara Sea Festival. This year, festival founders the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum launch an expanded two week festival. The celebration kicks-off May 1 with the Santa Barbara Choral Society & Orchestra performing Ralph Vaughan-Williams’ stirring “A Sea Symphony” at The Granada, and ends with the Maritime Museum’s hands-on Sea Festival May 15 at the Harbor. sbseafestival.com

TEMECULA - Western Days. Weekend annual mock gunfights, activities, vendors, and entertainment in the streets of Old Town.  Saturday will feature a Western and Historical art competition and art show presented by the Temecula Valley Art League.
