BALBOA ISLAND - Family, Friends & Fun, Annual Parade. Festive event held on Marine Avenue on Balboa Island in Newport Beach, CA. Time 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bridge from PCH closes at 10 a.m.

BIG BEAR LAKE - REEL Money Fishing Derby. $50,000 cash award for 1 tagged trout in fishing derby. Time: Saturday, June 5 and Sunday, June 6 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. * Cost: $40 adult; $25 under age 16. (Free to lodging guests from June 4 to June 6. The amount of free entries is based on lodging occupancy per reservation. Free entry is also given to participants who rent a pontoon boat at a participating marina in Big Bear Lake the weekend of Fishin’ for $50K Trout Derby). CORONA - Koroneburg Old World Festival. Meet hundreds of family members living, working & playing in Southern California’s only permanent Renaissance Village! Visitors to this 1450-1600 European Village are entertained, discover fine arts and crafts, and enjoy delectable food and beverages. The setting is the fictitious estate of the Baron Heinrich Von Lauffer, located along the Rhine river (aka Santa Ana River) between Mainz and Strasbourg. Each year the Baron invites the finest minds and most talented actors to celebrate the coming of spring at his Barony of Koroneburg. SANTA MARIA -  Santa Maria Elks Rodeo. 67th Annual rodeo and parade lineup features a mini rodeo and PBR performance on June 3, followed by rodeo performances on June 4, 5 and 6. Horse race, the famous mutton bustin’, Pro Rodeo Cowboy Association events, including bull riding, bronc riding, calf roping, steer wrestling, bareback riding, barrel racing, local team roping and specialty acts. SUNOL -Take a vintage train ride through Niles Canyon. Board at the old Sunol depot and travel part of the historic route of the first transcontinental railroad. VENTURA - Becoming Art at the Seams: a Juried Exhibition of Art and Contemporary Quilts. Opening with a free public reception from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 12, the exhibit continues through June 20 at The Museum of Ventura County, located at 89 S.
