INDIO - Date Festival. Annual Indio Date Festival includes car shows, carnivals, date foods, beauty queens, concerts and even camel races. Event runs through Feb. 21. datefest.org

The 25th Annual event themed “11 Amazing Days, 10 Starry Nights”, features over 200 films representing 45 countries and honoring Sandra Bullock, James Cameron, Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, Kathryn Bigelow among others.
