ANAHEIM - Orange County 2010-model OC Auto Show.  New cars, crossovers, sport/utility vehicles, trucks and more take over the Anaheim Convention Center in an automotive extravaganza featurung futuristic concept cars, eye-popping exotics, pre-production models, interactive ride and drives and the latest alternative fuel options for showgoers looking to go green. Additionally, the auto show will pump up the energy with exciting bikini contests, aftermarket accessories and the latest in car customization. Time: October 16 Noon – 10 p.m.; Saturday, October 17 9 a.m. – 10 p.m.; and Sunday, October 18 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. Cost: $6-10. Location:  Anaheim Convention Center, 800 West Katella Ave., Anaheim, CA.

AVALON - Jazz Trax Jazz Concerts on Catalina Island. Top jazz artists perform Oct. 8-11; and Oct. 15-18. Costs vary.

BLUE LAKE -  Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze. Directions: Northbound Hwy 101: Guintoli exit - go left. Follow directions to Mad River Beach and look for signs to Corn Maze/Pumpkin Patch toward the big red barn.

BUENA PARK - Silverado Days.  Annual Buena Park celebration is a three day carnival, community contests, food, Chili Cookoff, Car Show and more. Get out your silver spurs and jingle jangle your way over to Buena Park for some real down home Hog Calling, Mutt Contest, Cute Baby Contest, Custom Hot Rod Car Show, Arm Wresting, etc.  Food booths, 20 game booths, 85 arts and crafts booth and 30 carnival rides to share with family and friends are just a sampling of what you'll find at Buena Park's Silverado Days annual celebration. The carnival is open Friday from 4 to midnight (rides open at 5), Saturday from 10:00 to midnight and Sunday from 10:30 to 9 (rides open at 12:00 noon Sat. and Sun.)  Location: Peak Park, 7225 El Dorado Dr. Buena Park, CA.

BUENA PARK - Knotts Berry Farm- Knott's Scary Farm Haunt is world's largest theme park event. Shocking walk-through mazes, re-themed rides and one scare experience, with Knott’s Annual Haunt and 1,000 costumed creatures wandering the park, mazes and rides. Knott’s Berry Farm closes at 5:30 p.m. each evening and reopens at 7 p.m. as Knott’s Scary Farm. The fear continues until 1 a.m. (2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays). Tickets: $37-54/person. Opens at 7 p.m.

ESCONDIDO - Haunted House. The Downtown Business Association offers a haunted house experience in a 15-room Grand Haunt filled with ghosts and ghouls, a mad scientist and a funeral parlor. It will feature live actors, scary surprises and smoke and mirrors. Admission is $10, with a special $15 front-of-the-line pass. Cost is $5 for younger children for the 'Lights-On' version of the haunted house.  Time: 5 to 10 p.m. Wednesdays - Thursdays; 5 p.m. to midnight Fridays -Saturdays. Location: Haunted House, 333 E. JULIAN - Fall Apple Harvest. A San Diego tradition, the Annual Julian Fall Apple Harvest runs through November 15. This year, the Apple Harvest celebrates its 100th birthday as thousands of visitors venture to this historic East County mining town, nestled in the Cuyamaca Mountains, to sample fresh crisp apples, homemade apple pies and ciders. Visitors can also enjoy acres of colorful fall foliage, charming bed and breakfast inns, art shows, quaint antique shops and live entertainment.

LATRHOP  - Dell'Osso Family Farm Pumpkin Maze. This 11th annual event includes an awesome maze to work your way out of, plus pumpkin blaster where you can shoot miniature pumpkins, Kiddie Land, Pony Rides, a Petting Zoo, Face Painting, Tractor Train, free Hay Ride, free Hay Bale Pyramid, free Speedway, free Hay Bale Labyrinth, Maze Bridges, food & fun. ORANGE- Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch. Fun for all ages, but designed for kids. Ride the train, play carnival games, hay rides, maze, haunted house, and pumpkins. Pumpkin Patch time: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Cost: No admission, parking fee at Irvine Regional Park is $3 weekday, $5 weekend. Location: 1 Irvine Park Rd., Orange, CA.
