AVALON - Jazz Trax Jazz Concerts on Catalina Island. Top jazz artists perform Oct. 8-11; and Oct. 15-18. Costs vary.

BLUE LAKE -  Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze. Directions: Northbound Hwy 101: Guintoli exit - go left. Follow directions to Mad River Beach and look for signs to Corn Maze/Pumpkin Patch toward the big red barn.

COSTA MESA - The Big Squeeze Orange County Accordion Festival.  Showcasing a variety of traditional and contemporary accordion music including Cajun, Zydeco, Russian folk, Polka, Tejano and other styles. Main stage acts feature Raving Polka from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Grammy nominee for Best Zydeco/Cajun Music , Lisa Haley and the Zydekats take the stage from 12:45 p.m. to 2 p.m. Los Fabulocos with Kid Ramos appear from 2:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. Other stages of accordion music from local and regional groups and soloists, demos, dance lessons, and educational presentations will be offered. HUNTINGTON BEACH Oktoberfest German Celebration. Get out the lederhosen, dirndl and beer stein for a good time with an Oom-pah band from Germany. Sunday is family day with kids bounce houses and outdoor patio fun, often including dachshund races. Time: 1 - 7 p.m. Cost: $5. JULIAN - Fall Apple Harvest. A San Diego tradition, the Annual Julian Fall Apple Harvest runs through November 15. This year, the Apple Harvest celebrates its 100th birthday as thousands of visitors venture to this historic East County mining town, nestled in the Cuyamaca Mountains, to sample fresh crisp apples, homemade apple pies and ciders. Visitors can also enjoy acres of colorful fall foliage, charming bed and breakfast inns, art shows, quaint antique shops and live entertainment.

LATRHOP  - Dell'Osso Family Farm Pumpkin Maze. This 11th annual event includes an awesome maze to work your way out of, plus pumpkin blaster where you can shoot miniature pumpkins, Kiddie Land, Pony Rides, a Petting Zoo, Face Painting, Tractor Train, free Hay Ride, free Hay Bale Pyramid, free Speedway, free Hay Bale Labyrinth, Maze Bridges, food & fun. OAKHURST - Chocolate and Wine Festival. Arts, crafts, auction, games, rides, Chocolate & Wine, car show and Costume Parade for Kids on Saturday.  Time: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Location: Oakhurst Community Park. Cost: $2 adult admission.

ORANGE- Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch. Fun for all ages, but designed for kids. Ride the train, play carnival games, hay rides, maze, haunted house, and pumpkins. Pumpkin Patch time: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Cost: No admission, parking fee at Irvine Regional Park is $3 weekday, $5 weekend. Location: 1 Irvine Park Rd., Orange, CA.

PLEASANTON - Pleasanton Downtown Association Antique and Collectible Street Faire. The event is sponsored by the Pleasanton Downtown Association and produced Jerry and Betsy Goldman of Turn Key Productions. Time: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Location: Main Street, Pleasanton, CA.   Street parking is available. From I-680 take the Bernal Avenue exit and go east past the Fairgrounds and turn left onto Old Bernal Avenue. From I-580, take the Santa Rita Road exit and follow Santa Rita to downtown. Admission is free.

POMONA - Off Road Expo. Nation's largest consecutive off road expo event with hundreds of exhibits invites the public to attend. Time: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Cost: $10 adult; $5 child; Free under 6 years. Location: Pomona Fairplex, 1101 W. McKinley Avenue, Pomona, CA 91768. Tickets available at, or box office (cash only) during show.

SAN DIEGO - Auto Showcase. The Gaslamp Quarter Association is proud to announce its 1st Annual car show will be held on 5th Avenue in the Gaslamp Quarter. This spectacular showcase will be free to the public and feature four car saloons along 5th Avenue from Market to E Street, comprised of the following exquisite automobiles: Italian exotics, Corvette and Detroit Muscle Cars, CCCA cars and special interest cars. Spectators from all of over Southern California will spend an afternoon viewing a fine collection of cars along the historic streets of the Gaslamp Quarter. SAN FRANCISCO - Angel Island After the Fire Hike. Docent led tour takes you by the areas where a fire destroyed plants and trees, and will show how it is recovering.  Learn about the historic sites and impact on vegetation and the BayWood Artists. The hike is about 6 miles. Take the earliest ferry from San Francisco or Tiburon and meet at 10:30 at the Island gift shop. Return on the last ferry. SAN FRANCISCO - Treasure Island WineFest.  Lodi Wine Country growers and vintners  will present at First Annual Treasure Island WineFest to exclusively feature Lodi wines. Attendees will sip on Lodi's Award-winning wines while enjoying culinary creations from Wine Valley Catering. There will also be educational seminars, strolling entertainment and Fleet Week aerial shows. Time: 1 p.m.-5 p.m.  Admission is $55 in advance and $65 at the door. SAN JOSE - COPPÉLIA, full-length ballet in three acts. Coppélia is a lighthearted ballet that is perfect family fare for its easy-to-understand story, humorous special effects, and exuberant dancing. Derived from a tale by E.T.A. Hoffmann, it is the story of a mysterious old toy maker who creates a beautiful doll so life-like that an entire village is fooled into believing her to be real. A young man becomes captivated by "the girl with the enamel eyes", and his fiancée is not ready to step aside for this new "girl" in town. WESTLAKE VILLAGE - 2009 Inaugural Sherwood Concours d’ Elegance. The American Red Cross of Ventura County hosts its inaugural Sherwood Concours d’ Elegance taking place at one of Ventura County’s premier venues, Sherwood Country Club.  The action packed event includes exciting rare and one-of-a-kind automobiles on display.  Thousands of automobile enthusiasts and car collectors will participate. 6th Annual Clara Barton Awards, will also be celebrated in conjunction with this event on October 10.
