JULIAN - Fall Apple Harvest. A San Diego tradition, the Annual Julian Fall Apple Harvest runs through November 15. This year, the Apple Harvest celebrates its 100th birthday as thousands of visitors venture to this historic East County mining town, nestled in the Cuyamaca Mountains, to sample fresh crisp apples, homemade apple pies and ciders. Visitors can also enjoy acres of colorful fall foliage, charming bed and breakfast inns, art shows, quaint antique shops and live entertainment.

LOS ANGELES - Boo at the Zoo. Halloween Boo at the L.A. Zoo includes pumpkin patches, jack-o-lantern carving, photo opportunities, eerie crafts— throughout the Zoo. Freaky Fun House will feature Halloween entertainment, tasty treats, face painting, wacky mirrors, and an amusement zone filled with games.  Time: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost: $8-13 (kids 2 & under free). ORANGE- Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch. Fun for all ages, but designed for kids. Ride the train, play carnival games, hay rides, maze, haunted house, and pumpkins. Pumpkin Patch time: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Cost: No admission, parking fee at Irvine Regional Park is $3 weekday, $5 weekend. Location: 1 Irvine Park Rd., Orange, CA.

PISMO BEACH - Art in the Park @ Dinosaur Caves. Over 70 local artists and craftsmen exhibit and sell paintings, sculpture, pottery, glass artist, textile, jewelry, wood and metal furniture, and much more. Live music, hands-on children's activities, fresh flowers and plants, BBQ, and on-site massage offer a day of fun for all ages. Time: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost: Free admission. SAN DIEGO - Disney's The Lion King, Musical. This award-winning Broadway musical returns to San Diego and often sells out.  Time: 1 & 6:30 p.m. Cost: $20 - 79 approx. Location: San Diego Civic Theatre, 3rd & B St., San Diego, CA 92101.

SAN DIEGO - Fallback Festival. 8th annual Fall Back Festivalthat ends daylight savings time is a great family event that  includes the Historic Children's Street Faire, the world’s only festival that celebrates history by “falling back.” Tons of children’s activities, entertainment, food, and demonstrations.
