ARCATA -North Coast Open Studios - Meet over 150 artists in their studios and experience the creative process firsthand at this annual event. Many of the artists' studios are located in unique and interesting spaces—from historic buildings in Old Town Eureka, to rustic settings with beautiful gardens along the coast and in the redwoods. Weekend events will be held in Manila, Freshwater, Indianola, Bayside, Arcata, Blue Lake, McKinleyville, Dows Prairie, Fieldbrook, Westhaven, Trinidad, Orick and Willow Creek. BERKELEY - Bolshoi Ballet Performs La Bayadère. La Bayadère is a drama of passion, betrayal, and redemption, unfolding against the exotic backdrop of India and culminating in the radiant choreography of the "Kingdom of the Shades".   Time: 3 p.m. Cost:  $50 - 125. CAPITOLA - Capitola Rod & Custom Classic Car Show. Awesome cars, great music and a beach setting make this the Number One activity locally this weekend. The event features over 300 Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, Coupes, Roadsters, Custom and Classic - vintage to 1972. There will be Vendor Booths, Music, Raffle, Trophies, and more. CHICO - The Cemetery Club, play. This production presented by Chico Theater Company is about a Jewish widows group that meets monthly to visit their husband's graves. Sweet tempered Ida is ready to begin a new life. Feisty Lucille just wants to have fun and Doris is uptight and judgmental, particularly when Sam the butcher enters the scene. CORONA - Koroneburg European Old World Festival. Southern California's Only Permanent Renaissance Village! PISMO BEACH - Art in the Park @ Dinosaur Caves. Over 70 local artists and craftsmen exhibit and sell paintings, sculpture, pottery, glass artist, textile, jewelry, wood and metal furniture, and much more. Live music, hands-on children's activities, fresh flowers and plants, BBQ, and on-site massage offer a day of fun for all ages. Time: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost: Free admission. SAN DIEGO - Dame Edna Live: My First Last Tour. The lovable Dame Edna Everidge, the fictitious character performed by Australian comedian and writer Barry Humphries, is on tour appearing in San Diego and other California cities. TEMECULA - Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival. This annual event celebrates the valley's presence to let your spirits soar. Mass dawn balloon launches are fleeting, so spectators are encouraged to arrive by 6 a.m. to witness the spectacle. Free tethered rides are available after the massive launch while weather permits. The three day celebration includes music, food sampling, wine sampling and other enjoyment. The event is free but admission to the food and festival special events are fee-based.
