DEL MAR - San Diego County Fair. Music Mania is the theme of the best annual event in San Diego.  Location: The Del Mar Fairgrounds, 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd., Del Mar, CA. Call: (858) 755-1161.

IRVINE - Irish Fair & Music Festival. Time: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Cost: $12 - 30. Location: Irvine Meadows Fairground, 8800 Irvine Center Drive, Irvine, CA.

MAMMOTH LAKES - 2009 Ford Mammoth Motocross. Motocross riders from around the nation will take to the famed Mammoth Motocross track this summer. This event draws some of the best riders in the world and is the oldest continuously running motocross event in the United States. Time: Daily. Location: Sherwin Creek Road, about two miles from the intersection of Old Mammoth Road. Spectators must ride mandatory shuttle for entry to the track--look for parking signs and enjoy the ride! MIDDLETOWN - Middletown Days. Annual Western-themed event the third weekend of June featuring a ranch rodeo, live music, craft and food booths, children's activities, and more. Saturday begins with a parade and ends with a dance. Sunday will feature the gymkhana. Location: Middletown Central Park, Central Park Rd., Middletown, CA. Call: (707) 994-1954.

PISMO BEACH - Pismo Beach Classic Car Show. This annual event raises money for charity, while celebrating community in a beach environment with beautiful collector automobiles.

PLACERVILLE - El Dorado County Fair. Destruction Derby, Fast Fridays motorcycle racing, carnival rides, a rodeo, animal races, cooking demonstrations,  home and garden displays and tons of great foods to buy. Location:  100 Placerville Drive, Placerville, CA. Hours (subject to change): Thursday: 12-midnight; Friday, Saturday: 10 – midnight; Sunday 10-10. Cost: varied, $7 general admission. SAN RAFAEL -  Marin Art Festival. Billed as a lawn party for the arts and considered one of the most beautiful outdoor art festivals in the nation, the Marin Art Festival features art available for purchase from over 250 artists from California and beyond, including works from award-winning painters, sculptors, photographers, wood workers, jewelers and more. The festival runs through Sunday, June 21. Time: 10a.m. to 6 p.m. Cost: $10/person; Free age 14 and under. Location: By the Lagoon at the Marin Civic Center Fairgrounds in San Rafael, CA. SUNOL - Historic Train Rides. Depart from Sunol depot and travel part of the historic route of the first transcontinental railroad. Departure times: 10:30 a.m.; Noon; 1:30 and 3 p.m. Cost: $10. Location: Sunol Station, 6 Kilkare Rd., Sunol, CA Call: (925) 862-9063.

VICTORVILLE - Huck Finn Jubilee. This annual Mark Twain celebration and cultural event includes live bluegrass and country music, fishing derby, games and an old-fashioned barn dance with line dancing and lots of entertainment such as hot air ballooning, antique cars and the world's largest bluegrass jam.
