  ATASCADERO - Lavender Festival. 4th annual Lavender Festival at Green Acres Lavender Farm includes green themes, vendors, musical entertainment, locally grown and locally made products, and a beautiful farm setting to enjoy the day. COSTA MESA - Orange County Fair. Orange County Fair is one of the most popular urban fairs in the U.S. Pig races, people contests, carnival rides, food, fun, and loads of live entertainment and fun for the entire family. GRASS VALLEY - World Festival. Four days of top notch music and camping (if you like) at Grass Valley Fairgrounds. Headliners this year feature acts such as the Indigo Girls and Los Lobos. Cost: $30/day pass - $140/ 4 day pass and camping included. Time: Daily. Location: Grass Valley Fairgrounds, Grass Valley, CA.

GUERNEVILLE - Fabulosa Fest 2009 - a radical, fund-raising festival that celebrates WOMEN’s Music and Art. Live Outdoor Concerts, DJ and Pool Parties, Independent Short Film Exhibition, Comedy, Artisan Crafts Fair and more for women and their friends! Legendary Troubadour, Ferron, Vicki Randle (The Tonight Show band), Gretchen Phillips (Texas Hall-of-Fame member), Kaia Wilson (Butchies), Jenny Hoyston (Erase Errata) and Leyna Noel & the Finer Things, plus regional favorites like Judea Eden, Carole & Mitzi, Shelley Doty Xtet, Blair Hansen, Lynn Bobby, Elin Jr, Trusting Lucy, Motherlode (feat. Jackie Strano), Clair, Audrey Howard & the Misters, Jo Boyer, Wildsang, the Raks Rosa Dance Company and more will attend and/or perform. HUNTINGTON BEACH - US Open of Surfing. Enjoy world class surfers in the 6 star WQS event. Next weekend is the big finale with the beach camp. This weekend is low key in comparison. Time: Daylight. IMPERIAL BEACH - U.S. Open Sandcastle Competition and Festival. Seacoast Drive is closed for the event that includes competitions, food and vendor booths and outdoor activities and games on the smooth sand beaches of Imperial Beach. Over 100,000 people attend!

LONG BEACH - Julius Caesar, play. Long Beach Shakespeare Company's FREE Summer Shakespeare Festival is back for its 11th Season! Intrigue, conspiracy, murder... and a ghost! It's a power struggle--Roman style. On stage in the classic political thriller! William Shakespeare's JULIUS CAESAR. It's festival seating: bring blankets or low-backed chairs to sit on. Bring a picnic or get a meal there! Food and beverages will be available on site! A glorious spectacle! MANHATTAN BEACH - AVP Crocs Tour Manhattan Beach. This top beach volleyball event will they feature Olympic gold medalists Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers, among other Beijing Olympians and beach volleyball superstars on the Los Angeles beaches and sands. Don’t miss it! In addition to the volleyball tournament, every AVP event features the ultimate beach party put on by its numerous active lifestyle-focused sponsors. OXNARD - Oxnard Bill of Rights Tall Ship Cruises. Historic ship sets sail each weekend for a 3 hour cruise offered at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Cost: $45; age 55+ $40; $35 age 12 and under. PLEASANTON - Alameda County Fair. Award-winning fair features top acts and wristband one fee for carnival rides.
