FORTUNA - Fortuna Redwood Rodeo. Monday Chili Cookoff launches the rodeo events. Time:5:30 to 7:30 p.m.  Cost: Free admission. Location: Main Street,  Fortuna, CA.

MENDOCINO - Mendocino Music Festival features Alexander Markov's String Fever. Brilliant violinist is a virtuoso classical and rock musician, backed up this evening by a string quintet, bass and drums at Mendocino Headlands State Park overlooking the Pacific Ocean,  Main Street between Lansing and Kasten, Mendocino. REDONDO BEACH - Seaside Lagoon Water Park. The large saltwater lagoon with chlorinated water  offers trained lifeguard supervision. Besides swimming, the Lagoon offers a large sand area for sunbathing, children's play equipment, and volleyball courts. There is also a grassy area and luau shelter for day and evening events, plus snack bar facilities provided by Ruby's Restaurant onsite. Time: 10 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. daily. SACRAMENTO - Carved Elegance: Woodies, Wheels, and Waves Car Exhibit.  Runs through September 19. California Automobile Museum, 2200 Front Street, Sacramento, CA. Hours: Daily from 10a.m. – 6 p.m. Extended hours on Thursdays from 6pm – 9pm through the Summer. Museum admission: $8 Adults, $7 Seniors, $4 Students, children under 5 free.
