BALBOA ISLAND - Balboa Island Home Tour. The annual fundraiser invites you to purchase a ticket and take a walking tour of Balboa Island's decorated homes for the holidays. BRENTWOOD - Brentwood Holiday On Ice. Twinkling outdoor light-filled rink under a big tent. Located next to the Streets of Brentwood shops, public ice skating goes to Jan. 10. CLAREMONT -  The Nutcracker. Presented by Inland Pacific Ballet, enjoy Southern California's most spectacular holiday production of The Nutcracker. Celebrating their 15th season, critically acclaimed Inland Pacific Ballet brings The Nutcracker to life with more than 80 dancers on stage at magnificent Bridges Auditorium. This annual yuletide ballet features a young girl named Clara who receives a magical nutcracker doll on Christmas Eve, and sets out on a wondrous journey to the Land of the Snow and the Kingdom of Sweets. Toy soldiers, life-sized dancing dolls, and a fantastic dream with battling mice, dancing snowflakes, waltzing flowers, and the delightful Sugar Plum Fairy stir the imagination. COLOMA -  Christmas in Coloma. This day features an old-fashioned, 1850’s Christmas, with period crafts, music, strolling musicians, historic trade demonstrations, 19th century Christmas programs and plays, and wreath making. A visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus are a colorful part of the day. Vendors offer hand-made crafts as well as a variety of foods. The historic buildings will be opened for our visitors’ enjoyment. COSTA MESA - Here Comes Santa. Every weekend through December 20 meet Santa. Get a free photo with Santa Claus from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. when you bring unwrapped toy or clothing to Orange County Market Place. Admission is $2 and free for children 12 and under. Orange County Market Place is held every Saturday and Sunday from 7 a .m. to 4 p.m. vendors, services, a produce market, children’s play area, Artisans’ and Crafters’ Corner, hair salon and a variety of food concessions. COSTA MESA - Gem Faire. GARDEN GROVE - The Glory of Christmas Musical.  A blend of Christmas carols, pageantry, live animals, flying angels, and special effects unfold in the nativity story. HUNTINGTON BEACH - Ballet Repertory Theatre Nutcracker Ballet. Presented in its original, full-length version, this delightful holiday classic by Huntington Beach's Ballet Repertory Theatre is sure to please audiences of all ages. Breathtaking, magical, and humorous, Orange County's longest-running Nutcracker production is an affordable, feel-good family tradition with a versatile cast of over 250 dancers in 14 enchanting performances. HUNTINGTON BEACH - Huntington Harbour Lighted Boat Parade. Rock N' The Night Away is the theme of this annual boat parade in which contestants win trophies for contest categories as applied in boat lighting, music and designs. The public can watch the parade free. Parking on the Huntington Beach islands is extremely limited, which makes watching a challenge, however. Time: Line up at 5:15 p.m.

LAGUNA BEACH - Saw Dust Festival Winter Fantasy Art Show Opens, Community Tree Light Ceremony. 4 weekends only, this annual event features art gifts for sale for the holidays. Time: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Cost: $6 adult. Location: Laguna Canyon Road, Laguna Beach, CA. Info: (949)494-3030.

LONG BEACH - Crystal Ice Skating Outdoor Rink. New in 2009 for the holidays, daily skating at The Pike is held in the grass area. LOS ANGELES - Downtown on Ice at Pershing Square. Biggest rink and cheapest price, according to the city of Los Angeles Parks & Rec department, which invites you to come skate amidst the skyscrapers. Time: Monday -Thursday 12 Noon to 10 p.m.; Friday thru Sunday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

LOS ANGELES - The Million Dollar Revival Concert. Fran Drescher, Olivia Newton John, and Jackson Browne are a few of the acts presented in a special evening of entertainment. An all star cast will be present at The Million Dollar Revival Concert to raise money for Fran Drescher’s Cancer Schmanser Movement. SAN DIEGO - Gaslamp Holiday Pet Parade. SAN DIEGO - San Diego Bay Parade of Lights. Holiday Boat Parade. Lighted boats in the San Diego Harbor Parade of Lights begin show with fireworks before the illuminated boats parade through the harbor. The procession takes around two hours and the best spots to get a good view are Shelter Island (at the start of the route), Harbor Island, The Embarcadero, Seaport Village and the Ferry Landing on Coronado. Time: 5:30 to 9 p.m. approx.

SAN DIEGO - SeaWorld Holiday Collection. Breakfast with Shamu and Santa. Santa makes an appearance during the event. Cost is $26/10 and older; $16 age 3 to 9 years (tax, gratuity & park admission not included). Dates are Nov. 27-29; Dec. 5-6; Dec. 12-13; and Dec. 19-22.

SAN FRANCISCO - Nutcracker Ballet - featuring San Francisco Ballet, this time honored classic is sure to please. SAN JOSE - Downtown Ice. Visit the Circle of the Palms for seasonal, festive ice skating downtown. SAN MATEO - Winterfest. Sparkle, shimmer, flicker and flash – explore light at Coyote Point Museum on Sunday, December 13. As winter grows darker and we approach the longest night of the year, come explore the science of light and dark. Tinker with prisms and mirrors, track shadows, and make sparks. SANTA ANA The Science of Gingerbread. Kids' imaginations can run free as they explore gingerbread, and learn that there's science in every bite! TEMPLETON - Nutcracker Ballet. 12th annual event of the North County Dance and Performing Arts Foundation presentation.
