LAGUNA BEACH - Art-A-Fair festival. Annual art event located in a beautiful garden setting with 125 artists, plus live entertainment, fine food, demonstrations and workshops. This year's theme is "Venetian Carnival."  The event runs through Aug. 31. Location: 777 Laguna Canyon Road, Laguna Beach, Calif. LAGUNA BEACH - Sawdust Festival.  The show offers a great opportunity for home decorating and gift shopping. Summer Art Festival runs daily through Aug. 30, 2009. LAKEPORT - Summer Concert. Pack your picnic supper and head to the park to hear to-notch musical acts perform in the gazebo. Every Friday evening from mid-June through mid-August. Time: 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Cost: Free. Location: Library Park, Lakeport, CA. Call: (707) 263-6113

LOS ANGELES - Monty Python's Spamalot. Time: 8 p.m. Cost: $88 - 227 approx. Location: Ahmanson Theatre, 135 N. Grand Ave., Los Angeles, CA.

McCLOUD - McCloud Heritage Days. This annual event celebrating the city's proud past begins on Friday evening with an excursion train ride, St. Joseph’s steak dinner, and old fashioned melodrama “Who’s a Hoo Hoo? “(“The Snark Stops Here”). The melodrama is an annual fundraiser for the Heritage Junction Museum and is locally written and produced with local talent and is based loosely on an actual event in area history.

PINE MOUNTAIN CLUB - Center of the World Festival. Center of the World Festival takes its inspiration from the Chumash legends, and the spiritual significance of Mt. Pinos to the Chumash people. The Festival is being held in Pine Mountain Club, California, which is a small hamlet nestled in the Los Padres National Forest at the base of Mt. Pinos. The Festival is a playwright competition, with plays reflecting a theme of peaceful conflict resolution. The theme itself is based upon the Chumash concept of maintaining balance with the universe and mankind; ancient ceremonies were conducted at Mt. Pinos for that purpose. The Festival is a fundraiser for Kern County Chapter of the American Red Cross. Cost: $10 donation to Red Cross per daily event. Location: Pine Mountain Club, CA. Call: (661) 242-1583.

PLEASANTON - Finding Stella, concert. Classic rock and pop is featured at the Pleasanton Summer Concerts. Time: 7 p.m. Cost: Free. Location: Lions Wayside Park, corner of First and Neal Streets in Pleasanton, CA. Call: (925) 484-2199.

REDONDO BEACH - Seaside Lagoon Water Park. The large saltwater lagoon with chlorinated water  offers trained lifeguard supervision. Besides swimming, the Lagoon offers a large sand area for sunbathing, children's play equipment, and volleyball courts. There is also a grassy area and luau shelter for day and evening events, plus snack bar facilities provided by Ruby's Restaurant onsite. Time: 10 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. daily. REDONDO BEACH - Cruise at the Beach. Meets every Fri. night through early September at Ruby's Diner, 245 N. Harbor Dr., Redondo Beach, CA.

SAN DIEGO - Wicked, musical. The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz, Wicked is Broadway's biggest blockbuster with a Grammy and three Tony awards, but does equally well in San Diego.
