BODEGA BAY - Fisherman's Festival. Blessing of the fleet, a pet parade, and live music, and teams of four build a boat with a set amount of materials in three hours and then race it across the water to victory. BORREGO SPRINGS - Peg Leg Smith Liars Contest. Every year on the first Saturday of April the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park attracts story tellers from all over the globe to compete in the annual Peg Leg Smith Liars Contest. Stories should be of no more than five minutes in length, should be about lost gold and/or Pegleg Smith, and costumes and other original touches are always appreciated by the crowd and judges.

CARLSBAD - Bluegrass Day at the Flower Fields. Ranunculus Tours, Every March and April, the Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch blossom into a spectacular sea of brightly colored ranunculus flowers. Visitors can view and tour the fields in Carlsbad. Open to the public seven days a week, 9am to 5pm. Interstate 5 to Palomar Airport Road Exit. DANVILLE  - Hats Off America Red T-Shirt 10K Run/5K Run or Walk. The 15th annual event invites you to join Sparky George, the Bear Flag Runner and an old Marine, at the 15th Hats Off America Red T-Shirt 10K Run/5K Run or Walk. Time: 10 a.m. Location: Sycamore Valley Park, 2101 Holbrook Drive, Danville, CA. Cost: $35, all runners and volunteers will receive a red t-shirt. There will be a presentation to Rachelle Arroyave with a check for $3,000, bringing the total to $15,100 to the family who lost a brave soldier. HUNTINGTON BEACH - Earth Day Celebration at Bolsa Chica Wetlands. Have fun and learn about the environment with the whole family in a day that includes games and interactive booths that explore all aspects of the wetlands. Marine animals, birds, coyotes and raccoons, wetland ecology, history of the wetlands, and guided tours allow kids (who receive prizes for answering questions) and adults to spend a meaningful day outdoors. ORANGE - Easter Train, Eggstravaganza and More!  Irvine Park Railroad is all set to drive the families and kids to see the Easter Bunny, and hunt for eggs.
