DAVIS - International Fun Food Fest: What's on Your Plate? Annual International House-Davis conference invites the public to enjoy kids area, food vendors, demos and presentations. This year the conference will explore the history, customs, culture, and distinctive characteristics of foods from various regions of the world with scientists and researchers from the UCD, Departments of Food Science and Technology, and Nutrition, as well as from the Culinary Institute of America. Interpretive dance depicting "The Making of Cheese", Denise Hoffner – a local comedian, a no-host beer garden, food vendors and music. A special room for children ages 4 -10 includes movies & crafts. MAMMOTH LAKES - Opening Day of the Mono County Fishing Season. For fishermen, Opening Day is a highlight of the year. Rainbows, Browns as well as the famous trophy-sized Alpers Trout are stocked in the many lakes and streams in and around the Mammoth Lakes area. STOCKTON - Asparagus Festival. All things asparagus are celebrated in the event now over 23 years old!
