Travelers flock from around the world to shop in Costa Mesa at South Coast Plaza.  Commercial success of the venue has helped the nearby Orange County Performing Arts Center come into its own as a recognized concert hall.

Since its opening in 1986, the $73.8 million Orange  County Performing Arts Center has hosted in its 3,000 seat Segerstrom Hall names such as Beverly Sills, YoYo Ma and the New York City Opera. Jazz, pop, opera and classical music are featured in concert series events. 

A free 45- minute tour every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 100:30 a.m. takes visitors to backstage areas, dressing and rehearsal rooms and lobbies while guides explain background of the architecture, sculpture and art objects. The Center is located at 600 Town Center Drive, Costa Mesa (714) 556-2122.  

Across the streett  is the South Coast Repertory (pictured right), one of the country's leading (Tony-award winning) theatres at 655 Town Center Drive (714) 957-2602 

Educational programs and students often receive benefit of performer visits. Pictured is a member of the New York City Ballet working with top local students attending a training session at the Center by special invitation.
