Along the California Coast between Santa Maria and Oxnard are rocky cliffs, flower covered hills and miles and miles of scenery. Turnouts on Interstate Highway 101 offer sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean. There are no restrooms at most locations but you will see an occasional Amtrak train go by, watch surfers in the water below and waves crash against the shore. Each vista offers a unique view and nearly always provides a photo opportunity.

Pictured above is a spot north of a tunnel halfway between Santa Maria and Santa Barbara. Just beyond the tunnel to the south is a rest area with bathrooms and pay phones.
