Flag Exhibit at California State Capitol

Sacramento--There's so much going on in Sacramento, you can hardly keep pace with the new exhibits, museums, and hotels on the horizon. One unique item that caught our attention was the unveiling of a flag exhibition at the Capitol Museum. California State Capitol is the top attraction for those visiting Sacramento, and if you've never taken the time to see it, here's a great reason:

“Carried with Courage: Historic Flags from the Capitol” Collection is on display and includes 50 flags from the Civil War, Spanish American War and World War I. On view in the Museum Library Exhibit Room, the rare and  fragile pieces of cloth have been guarded and closely watched for preservation, thus not offering much opportunity to look at up close. In fact, many of the flags  have never been seen by the public.

The good news is the flag exhibit will be open to the public through May 2010. It is operated under the direction of the State Museum & Historic Parks.  See:
