The
community has several five-star hotels, along with an interesting
selection of restaurants serving an eclectic variety of cuisines,
you name it they have it! As a staple: shoppers have an awesome
choice of high-end boutiques with designer fashions at their beck
and call. Sound intriguing? … prepare your credit card for big-time
action.
If you are interested in a hotel out of the city area and love to
gamble, consider the picturesque Morongo Casino, Resort & Spa. It is
located a short way from the city in the San Gorgonio mountain pass
just west of Palm Springs . Reported to be the newest and most
beautiful gaming resort and recreational destination, the hotel is
operated by the Morongo Band of Mission Indians. It is approximately
110 miles southeast of Los Angles and 140 miles northeast of San
Diego. A short cab ride from the Palm Springs airport to the hotel
takes about twenty minutes.
This four-star hotel has a variety of accommodations. Guests may
request standard rooms or suites, casitas are available for visitors
who want both privacy and luxury. As an added bonus the hotel has,
“Sage” a large luxurious health spa and salon. If you are interested
in feeling renewed, this is where it will happen.
As with most casino/hotels the casino is on the ground floor as you
enter the building. Prepare for the usual clanging of bells and the
jingling of coins! The announcement of a jackpot winner is your
warning to stand clear during the excitement of the moment as the
lucky person comprehends he/she is actually going to take money home
… frantic jumping up and down, arm waving and shouts of “I won! I
won!” sound across the casino floor. Excitement personified. For
