DEL MAR  - Surf Dog Surf-a-thon. Watch dogs compete in surfing, costume contest and other great fun at Del Mar's Dog Beach. Raise money for the number of waves your dog or you catch. Time: 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Location: 3200 Camino del Mar, Del Mar, CA. Register:

LONG BEACH - Original Lobster Festival. Food, fun, entertainment (live music), and a fantastic oceanside location make for a must-see event this fall. Location: Rainbow Lagoon, Long Beach, CA. Cost: $13 admission, Lobster meal cost: $35/ $25-presale. Time: Noon - 10 p.m.

LONG BEACH - Garden Tours at Rancho Los Cerritos Historic Site. Held first Sunday through October, guided tours of the lush grounds include information about the history of the gardens as you stroll past the vibrant flowers in bloom and delight in the refreshing citrus fragrances in the restored orchard. Some trees date back to the 1840s when John Temple, owner of the 27,000-acre Rancho from 1844-1866, started the garden. In 1931, renowned landscape architect Ralph Cornell redesigned the gardens for Llewellyn Bixby, Sr. and added more exotic plants and fruit trees. A water tower, a cast iron tallow pot from the 1840s, and an adobe horno are additional features you will explore during your tour. OCEANSIDE - to  LA JOLLA - Beach'n 101 Cruise.This Third Annual event is one of the premiere cruises on the West Coast. You cruise through six classic Beach downtowns along the most beautiful stretch of Highway 101 and inches from the sandy beaches. This is a day to see and be seen. RANCHO SANTA FE -  A Finer Art Affaire. The Rancho Santa Fe Art Guild will host an art fair in the village parks area. SANTA CRUZ - Michelle Kiba and the Tiki Tones will be the featured entertainment at the Big Kahuna Triathlon 2008, performing on the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Stage cheering the athletes across the finish line.
