BIG BEAR LAKE - Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest. 38th Annual Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest Schedule of Events includes Log Sawing & Stein Holding Contests - held several times throughout the day. Children's contests held Sundays at approximately 3:00 p.m.; Outside Budenstrasse Game Booths, Exhibitors, Petting Zoo Saturdays from 12:00 Noon - 5:00 p.m.  Price: $5 - 10 approx. HUNTINGTON BEACH - Old World Village Oktoberfest. A Bavarian band, live entertainment, German foods served and beers on tap, plus the pretty "shot" girls and a large dance floor for Chicken Dance. Sunday afternoons are Family Day with the Bouncy House for kids. Location: 7571 Center Ave., Huntington Beach, CA. Call: (714) 895-8020.

LOS ANGELES - The Biggest Dance Ever. No dance experience is  necessary for an event featuring the Electric Slide at the Grand Avenue Festival in Downtown LA. 15-minute mini-lessons at 12:45pm and 1:45pm are offered with the big dance taking place at 2:45 pm at the corner of First Street and Grand Avenue in Downtown Los Angeles, near the Music Center. Location: Intersection of First Street and Grand Avenue, between Walt Disney Concert Hall and Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Call: (213) 972-3660.
- Pumpkin Patch. A huge pumpkin patch and train ride are part of the fun in this 3rd annual event that includes train rides, hay rides, a haunted house, pony rides, thousands of pumpkins and more. Admission into the pumpkin patch is FREE. Prices for other activities vary. Location: Irvine Regional Park, 1 Irvine Park Rd., Orange, CA. Cars are charged $3 parking.

PACIFICA - Fog Fest.  Celebrate the fog that creeps along the coast of Pacifica with a festival dedicated to this beloved climatic condition. Events include two days of musical entertainment, arts & crafts, activities, a parade on Saturday (begins at 10 a.m.), and competitions ranging from Historical Float, Fog Bank, Fog Jog, Coast Side Chowder and Surfboard Competition. POMONA - Los Angeles County Fair. Full of city-fied fun. Horseracing, too. (Lifehouse and Gavin Rossdale perform at 8 p.m. Ticket: $25 - 125).  Location: Fairplex at Pomona Fairgrounds. Open daily, runs through September 28, 2008.

POWAY - Poway Coors Rodeo.  36th Annual Event is themed, "Tough Enough to Wear Pink". Time: Opens at 1 p.m. General admission: $15 -25 (subject to change). Location: 14336 Tierra Bonita Rd. Poway, Ca. 92064. Call:  (866) PRORODEO.
REDDING - Redding Ducky Derby Race. Caldwell Park at 3 pm the ducks drop into the river to be retrieved. Ducky Derby Hotline 530-224-8856. (date is tentative, check site to confirm)

SANTA MARIA - Cruzin' for Life 2008. Competition Burnouts. Exhibtion dragsters & Funnycars. Two shows: 10am and 2pm at SM Fairpark. Benefits Marian Cancer Center and American Cancer Society. WEST HOLLYWOOD - West Hollywood Book Fair. The West Hollywood Book Fair encourages reading, writing, and literacy in the West Hollywood and greater Southern California area communities. Visitors can enjoy the 7th Annual event featuring over 400 authors and artists, celebrity guests, 100 panels and book signings, live performance stages, children’s area, and numerous exhibitors.
