COSTA MESA - Orange County Fair Say Cheese. Enjoy one of the most popular urban fairs in the U.S. Pig races are an annual treat, carnival rides, food, fun, and loads of live entertainment and fun for the entire family.  Runs through Aug. 3, 2008 (closed Mondays).  Tickets: $5 - 10, kids under free 5 free. FORTUNA - Fortuna Rodeo. Events include rodeo stunts, barbecue and dance, a parade, games, street dancing and carnival. The community turns out all week to join in the festivities.

HUNTINGTON BEACH - Surf City Nights Streets are closed in downtown Huntington Beach for live entertainment, food vendors and farmer's market. Time: 5 - 9 p.m. Cost: Free, free parking at city garage on 200 Main St., Huntington Beach, CA.

LAGUNA BEACH - Art-A-Fair festival. 42nd annual art event located in a beautiful garden setting with 125 artists, plus live entertainment, fine food, demonstrations and workshops. This year's theme is "Venetian Carnival."  The event runs through Aug. 31. Location: 777 Laguna Canyon Road, Laguna Beach, Calif. Hours: Sun. – Thurs. 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Fri. and Sat. until 10 p.m.Cost: Season pass $3.50 - $7.00; under 12 free. Call: (949) 494-451.

LOS ANGELES - Dinner & A Movie: Gene Autry Westerns. Rovin’ Tumbleweeds (1939) will be shown at this  event featuring the Western films of Gene Autry. Time: Dinner at 5 pm; Gallery tours at 5:45 and 6:30 pm; Film introduction at 7:15 pm; Screening at 7:30 pm. Admission: $15 Autry members / $18 general admission / $10 children 12 and under. MENDOCINO - 2008 Mendocino Music Festival. Celebrating its 22nd year, the Festival includes the Festival Orchestra, Chorus, and Chamber Players, plus featured performers Jesse Winchester, Stephen Prutsman, the Hot Club of San Francisco, Degenerate Music, Marriage of Figaro, Quintango, Los Pinguos, and Julian Waterfall Pollack & Friends. Held at Mendocino Headlands State Park overlooking the Pacific Ocean,  Main Street between Lansing and Kasten, Mendocino. The event runs through July 26, 2008. Shows are at 8:00 pm.
