SANTA BARBARA - French Festival Bastille Day Celebration.  21st Annual French Festival held on Bastille Day Weekend, July 12 & 13, in Santa Barbara's Oak Park is where America celebrates France... and what's best is that it is free! Billed as the largest French celebration in the Western United States, French chefs cook cuisine from crepes to quiche, a huge huge Eiffel Tower and French-themed entertainment on three stages: cancan, Edith Piaf, Maurice Chevalier, Josephine Baker, hot jazz a la Django Reinhart and music and dance the entire time. accordions, Also don't miss the Poodle Parade and c Fatales Drag Review. COSTA MESA - Orange County Fair Say Cheese. Enjoy one of the most popular urban fairs in the U.S. Pig races are an annual treat, carnival rides, food, fun, and loads of live entertainment and fun for the entire family.  Runs through Aug. 3, 2008 (closed Mondays).  Tickets: $5 - 10, kids under free 5 free. LAGUNA BEACH - Art-A-Fair festival. 42nd annual art event located in a beautiful garden setting with 125 artists, plus live entertainment, fine food, demonstrations and workshops. This year's theme is "Venetian Carnival."  The event runs through Aug. 31. Location: 777 Laguna Canyon Road, Laguna Beach, Calif. LEUCADIA - Rancho Santa Fe Guild artists will participate in a 'Three-day Paint Out, all medium. 'In an atttempt to capture a small part of what will soon be a fading memory of the changing California coastline, Surfer's Point Resort, a new picturesque waterfront resort at 2005 No. Coast Hwy 101 (La Costa Ave. & No.Coast Hwy in Leucadia, CA) is hosting  this three day paint event followed by an open to the public art auction & Gala Time: 10a.m.-5p.m.. MENDOCINO - 2008 Mendocino Music Festival. Celebrating its 22nd year, the Festival includes the Festival Orchestra, Chorus, and Chamber Players, plus featured performers Jesse Winchester, Stephen Prutsman, the Hot Club of San Francisco, Degenerate Music, Marriage of Figaro, Quintango, Los Pinguos, and Julian Waterfall Pollack & Friends. SANTA MARIA - Santa Barbara County Fair "Rock Around the Clock". 117th annual event includes food, live entertainment with top act, carnival and local competitions, plus livestock. Open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. santamariafairpark.com
