NEWPORT BEACH - Summer Sunset Cocktail Cruises.  Hornblower’s New Summer Sunset Cocktail Cruises! Held every Thursday through September 4, Hornblower is celebrating summer by introducing our New Summer Sunset Cocktail Cruises! You’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the sunset from the deck of a Hornblower yacht and a front row seat to view the sailboat races. Hornblower’s two-hour Cocktail Cruise features complimentary appetizers, drink specials and amazing views. The appetizer menu varies but may include favorites such as, chips and salsa, fresh garden crudités with herbed ranch dressing, Jamaican seasoned beef skewers with mango-pineapple salsa, firecracker chicken with chili cream, and vegetable spring rolls with ginger plum sauce. Tickets are $28 per person plus tax. Boarding begins at 6:00pm and cruises from 6:30pm- 8:30pm. The cruise is open to the public and reservations are required. Location: 2431 W. WOODSIDE - Djerassi Sculpture Tour - Outstanding artists with names and works such as Tome Adzievski – Spirit of a Dead Father, 1996; Liset Castillo – From Palo Cagao to Palo Alto, 2001; and Bright Ugochukwu Eke – Exiled from River of Oil, 2007, have left a treasure of sculptures mostly hidden from public view, except during the annual Djerassi Sculpture tours.  Located in the redwood forests of the Santa Cruz Mountains on a private 580-acre ranch original outdoor art sculptures are on view in this free tour open to the public by reservation. Tours are held rain or shine and once a tour begins attendees must stay with the group and remain for the duration of the tour. Each 2-mile Tour lasts approximately 2 1/2 hours and includes approximately 15 sculptures. Guests should bring drinking water and wear multiple layers of clothing and sturdy walking shoes. The tour is strenuous--trails have steep uphill and downhill hiking, totaling approximately 300 feet of elevation. No picnic facilities are available for the two-mile tours and the Artists’ Barn is not included. Registered guests receive additional instructions and a map to the property in advance of their scheduled tour. No pets are allowed. Two-Mile Tours (free).  All tours begin promptly at 10 a.m.  but participants must arrive by 9:45 a.m. at the entrance gate to the Program’s SMIP Ranch on Bear Gulch Road West.  Registration for Two-Mile Tours held between July and October begins on June 3, 2008.
