COPPEROPOLIS - Hot Copper Days. Vintage Cars fill the streets of the new downtown Copperopolis Town Square. A car show, Rock 'n Roll music, BBQ and dancing in the streets all make for a day to celebrate the beautiful centerpiece square. Time: 10 a.m. 8 p.m. Cost: Free admission. FERNDALE - Humboldt County Fair.112th Annual Humboldt County Fair. Horse races, mule races, sheep dog trials, livestock, carnival rides, arts & handicrafts, food, floriculture and much more! LOS ANGELES - African Marketplace & Cultural Faire. Events include jazz, r&b and top music concert acts, literary presentations, vendors selling unique gifts and foods, and an entire fun zone for kids. PISMO BEACH - Saint Anthony's Celebration. Celebrate the cultural contribution of the area's Portugal descendants. A parade begins at 11 a.m. with Sopas being served on the grounds. SAN MATEO - San Mateo County Fair and Bay Meadows Thoroughbred Horse Racing. Contests, carnival, livestock, crafts, home arts and animal competitions, top musical acts, petting zoo and pig racing are but a few of the attractions and events at this popular bay area fair. SAN RAFAEL - San Rafael Food and Wine Festival. Wine tasting from regional wineries, beer tastings from local breweries and local restaurants will be featuring some of the best cuisine in Marin County. SANTA BARBARA - Woodies at the Beach, Santa Barbara Woodie Club. The 2008 Woodies at the Beach show held by the Santa Barbara Woodie Club will be held at Santa Barbara City College beginning at 9 AM and concluding at 3 PM. TOMALES - Holstein 100 Bicycle Ride. 15th Annual Tomales Holstein 100 Mile bike ride passes through Holstein country just north of the Bay Area. VACAVILLE - Vacaville Chili Challenge - held in Town Square, the International Chili Society is partnering with the Downtown merchants for an officially sanctioned event. The judging categories include Salsa, Chili Verdi, and Home Style (can include beans) and the big pepper itself Texas Style Red Chili. The winner of the Texas Style Red Chili has the opportunity to move one step closer to the ICS World Championship being held in October. Adding spice to the day’s activities there will also be the fire house and restaurant challenges to determine the best Firehouse and Restaurant Chili’s in Vacaville and beyond. Time: 10 am to 6 pm.
