Pam Julien Houchen at ceremonies and awards

Dateline--Huntington Beach, California 1998 - 20000

Huntington Beach--Former mayor of Huntington Beach, Pam Julien Houchen. Houchen served as a city council member and mayor till she resigned from council and her mayor position in 2004. Bottom right shows Houchen with her mother at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort where her campaign victory party was held. Houchen and her mother were excited that Pam just won a seat on Huntington Beach City Council.

Top right is Houchen who was known as Pam Julien at the time the photo was taken, with Office Nick Eckovich, who won a medal for bravery. He fought a robber in a Huntington Beach hold up of a hair salon in the southeast part of the city, and was injured in the line of duty. Eckovich died several years ago. The bullet wound was not directly attributed to his death.

On the upper left is Houchen officiating as mayor during a Concours d'Elegance event with Bart McGrath pictured, the event planner for the Concours car show. And bottom left is former mayor Peter Green and Pam Julien Houchen officiating at a Pier Plaza Memorial Day Celebration commemorating those who have died.

Houchen once worked as a Real Estate agent at Pier Realty, formerly owned by Jan Schomaker, a former Huntington Beach city planning commissioner. Pier Realty near the Huntington Beach Pier no longer exists, but its attractive logo and name will be remembered by those who enjoyed the many agents and positive contributions the business provided to those relocating, buying and selling homes.

Another individual who worked at Pier Realty with Houchen and Shomaker is Huntington Beach International Surfing Museum founder Natalie Kotsch. Combined, the members of the Real Estate firm were known for their community involvement.
