Therapeutic Riding Center Huntington Beach Events
Located in
Huntington
Beach Central Park, the Huntington Central Park
Equestrian Center is open to the public, providing programs
and rental space for special events. One of its unique
programs is the Therapeutic Riding Center, designed to
engage children meeting specific criteria, and qualifying
for the one-on-one riding experience on some of the park
horses. While the kids shown in these pictures are not
participants in that program, you can see the delight on the
face of most children who find riding horses an experience
that builds confidence and even relaxation.
The Therapeutic Riding
Center is a nonprofit organization that is operated mostly
by volunteers who regularly hosts classes or ride days with
the youngsters in the program. Amongst the therapeutic
centers activities are not only the rides, but the needed
fundraisers to finance the programs.
When you read about a
special event hosted by the Therapeutic Riding Center, you
can generally count on an event in which most the proceeds
will benefit the program.
For those who want to
become more acquainted with the
Central
Park Equestrian Center, it is open daily. You can visit
and watch the horses run their paces with their owners, who
pay boarding fees to keep their horses in stables in
Huntington Beach.
You can also reserve a
guided tour ride of your own by calling and making
reservations. It's a fun way to explore Edwards Hill, its
wildflowers, scenic vistas, and the equestrian trails.
