Costa Mesa, Calif. -- An open house and art show sponsored by the Zonta Club of Newport Harbor will feature the works of a variety of artists. Refreshments, a silent auction, raffle and sales will be part of this Sunday afternoon event to benefit programs advancing the status of women.

Artists at the event or on display will include Anita Brace - photographyy; Sherry Bullard - ceramics & artwork; Annie Dunne - oils; Sandra Jones-Campbell - oils; Jill Jacobs - ceramics and glass; Toni Danchik - oils and many more artists. The Zonta Club of Newport Harbor is a service organization of professional women who volunteer their time to help advance the status of women locally and globally. More about Zonta can be found at: www.Zonta.Org. The Newport Harbor club provides grants and fund raising support for local groups and scholoarships for local students.


Some of the local projects the Newport Harbor club supports are:
- Care kits for cancer patients at Hoag Hospital
- Care kits for victims of human trafficking in OC
- Career Day presentations for high school girls who are first generation college students
- Anti-Human Trafficking support to OC Task Force
- Backpacks full of supplies for low income students
- Scholarships for female students at all levels
- Grants for local non-profits

Some of the global projects Zonta International supports are:
- Permanent seat in the United Nations to provide research on women's issues
- Financial support for schools for women and girls in Afghanistan and Bosnia
- Financial support to organizations providing micro loans to women in villages in Africa
