Anderson is a scenic city that affords spectacular views of snow-capped mountains throughout the seasons. Warm and dry summers give way to cool winters in an outdoorsman's paradise. Fishing, boating, houseboating, hikes, camping and other outdoor activities are enjoyed all year long in Anderson.  Located in Shasta County, California, USA, approximately 10 miles south of Redding, Anderson is north of San Francisco and Sacramento, east of the California coastal cities such as Eureka, and west of the Lassen Volcanic National Forest.

There's no place on earth more welcoming for your vacation travel plans than Anderson, home to the California Welcome Center. At a beautiful facility in a shopping mall adjacent to Interstate Highway 5, you'll find fantastic displays, fish tanks filled with live fish that exemplify the local environment, artifacts and historical information from the rich Native American Indian heritage and maps, books, guides, gifts and everything tourists need to explore the great California north environs. The city is home to Anderson River Park, situated on the Sacramento River, but is best known for the Shasta District Fair. Throughout the year the Shasta District Fairgrounds host hundreds of events that include a favorite, the annual Shasta District Fair. Held annually the third week in June, the fair includes livestock exhibits, arts & crafts, a carnival, live entertainment, games, booths and delicious vendor foods. In addition to this special event,  Shasta District Fairgrounds, situated on 65 acres in a park like setting, is a focal point of the community. Hundreds of special events throughout the year include Crab Feeds, Car Shows, Demos, Bottle Collector Conventions, Home and Garden Shows, Sporting Shows and Conventions and more.
