Will Rogers State Beach in Pacific Palisades, CA

Will Rogers State Beach is a beach located on the Pacific coast of Southern California just west of Santa Monica, CA. It is part of Will Rogers State Park and is located at Pacific Palisades which is protected as part of the California Department of Parks and Recreation. The beach extends about one and three-quarter miles along the coast. It has number of facilities, including volleyball courts, gymnastic equipment, restrooms, a playground, and a bike path. The bike path is part of the South Bay Bicycle Trail which extends 19.1 miles along the shore to Torrance, California. The Beach is also popular as a surfing spot. The setting is a great attraction for filmmakers as a number of films and television shows like Baywatch have been filmed here.

Will Rogers State Beach is good enough to spend more than a day enjoying. At Valley Trails Camp there is a good local campground. While staying in the area be sure to check out nearby Castle Rock Beach, Topanga Beach, and Las Tunas Beach. Going to Will Rogers State Beach is a fantastic idea when you have extra time to spend in the great outdoors. During their stay at Will Rogers State Beach one should check out trails at close by Topanga Canyon and Parker Canyon. Will Rogers State Beach gets very little precipitation. January is the month when this place gets the most rain here and July is the driest month of the year. There is so much cool stuff to do for the whole family to enjoy round the year and especially in rainy season.

Location/Directions: The beach is located off the Pacific Coast Highway, near the intersection with Temescal Canyon Road. Address is 17700 Pacific Coast Highway, Pacific Palisades. If you are biking it is near the Northern end of Marvin Braude Bicycle Path.

Lifeguards: Lifeguards are on the beach during daylight hours.

Visitors should not touch, feed, or disturb any marine life on the beach. Animals on the beach are wild and may be dangerous. On seeing an injured animal on the beach, lifeguard should be called for animal rescue.

No pets on the beach!

No fires allowed except at the Dockweiler Beach or Cabrillo Beach fire rings.
