Hollywood Grauman's Chinese Theatre and Hollywood Walk of Fame is a world famous attraction featuring more than 2,000 stars honoring celebrities in motion pictures, television, recording, radio and theatre. The Walk is located on Hollywood Boulevard beginning at Hollywood & Highland next to the shopping center and Renaissance Hotel where celebrities meet before, during and after the Academy Award ceremonies. Within walking distance of one location you can see Grauman's Chinese Theater, El Capitan Theater, Starline Movie Stars Homes Tour, Kodak Theater Tour Hollywood Entertainment Museum and in the Max Factor building the Hollywood Museum. The Walk of Fame can be found at La Brea and Gower and on Vine Street between Yucca and Sunset Blvd. Approximately 20 new stars are added each year.

During the daylight hours look alike characters play the roles of Superman, Charlie Chaplin and a variety of celebrities such as Elvis show up, offering to pose for photos hoping for cash tips for their efforts. If you do not tip them, they often will request money. Don't be surprised to see two Supermen at the same time.  You also will see cameras galore and often a film crew taping something, be it a student film, a television show or even the Academy Awards ceremonies pre-show.

Surrounded by shops with souvenirs such as posters, statues, pictures, postcards, keychains, mini-Walk of Fame ornaments, T-shirts, hats and more, there are also booths and stores selling tickets for Hollywood tours.  Shopping is only second to placing your hands and feet in the cement molds of the celebrities and snapping a photo.

For those seeking affordable accommodations, there are dozens of chain hotels with reasonable prices nearby.  But for those seeking a bit more convenience, luxury and excitement, there are several recommendations at the Walk of Fame. The Renaissance Hollywood Hotel at the Walk of Fame offers sweeping views either of the Walk of Fame itself or the Hollywood Hills with the famous  HOLLYWOOD letters on the hill.  Be sure to ask the hotel which view you will receive.  The hotel offers a great location, exceptional staff and unique decor. We've stayed there several times and will stay there again, enjoying the Starbucks coffee shop a few feet from the hotel exit, shopping center on site, restaurants such as Wolfgang Puck and the great access to everything you want to see and do near the Hollywood Freeway (101). Not far from the hotel there's the Hollywood Bowl, Universal Studios Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive and Holmby Hills celebrity homes.

Down the street within view of Grauman's Chinese Theatre, there's also the historic Roosevelt Hotel. While the hotel is older, it still has a swimming pool, coffee shop and movie stars. Ghosts of Marilyn Monroe and Montgomery Clift have reportedly been seen in this building.  The room rates are generally lower than Renaissance Hollywood Hotel.

Grauman’s Chinese Theatre features studio movie premieres in which celebrities arrive and walk up the red carpet into the theatre. Cement handprints and footprints in the forecourt immortalize well known celebrities. More than four-million visitors from all over the world visit Grauman’s every year. The Grauman’s Chinese Theatre was declared a historic-cultural landmark in 1968.
