Drive-Thru Nativity Hail Caesar California Nativities

Living Nativities in California are enjoyable because even the coldest nights tend not to be quite so chilling as the midwest or east coast weather. With that in mind, people like to get out to enjoy the holidays. The living nativities are one popular activity during the Christmas season.

Shown in the video above is a the First Christian Church rendition of "Hail Caesar".

This church's annual living nativity gets up to 5,000 motorists and foot travelers attending each year. What does that mean for the actors? That means that they repeat the same lines over a thousand times. A changing of the guards can occur as the youth and adults who perform get tired and need breaks. The event usually runs about 3 hours each night of three nights held. It is always in December and includes a Friday.

The biblical verses that are recited with costume characters surround the Christmas story and birth of baby Jesus.

While this event has a short run of only three nights, it embodies the traditions that many seek in attempts to bring meaning to this somewhat fast-paced world. For those who seek to learn more about the event, you can call (714) 536-2589.  Location: 1207 Main Street, Huntington Beach, CA 92648.  Time: Usually first week in December nightly from 6 to 9:30 nightly.
