Huntington Pier sunset video shows the people strolling and kids
running on the pier to the backdrop of the ocean and setting sun.
As the sun goes down over a
California pier, people all come out to walk, wander, stroll and even
run. The Huntington Pier in Huntington Beach California is one of the
longest concrete piers to wander on in the state, and as such, enjoys a
healthy crowd on most nights and days.
In the video above (taken for a
lifeguard shack on the beach) you can see the view from the south side
of the pier, then zoom in to watch the people young and old out enjoying
the evening. A mom wanders with a baby in arms, and some kids
frolick and run, appearing as silhouettes.
The sunset in the summer occurs
around 7:30 to 8 p.m., while in the winter (December), you can expect to
see a sunset before 5 p.m. The temperature is ideal on a warm summer
night, but when the wind blows (and it usually does), you may wish for a
jacket or sweater. On a winter night you may want a coat.
Wandering along the pier, you'll
find Ruby's Diner, public bathrooms, a kite shop, souvenir gift shop
with Huntington Beach sweatshirts, jackets, stickers and gifts, and a
bait & tackle shop open during the daylight hours.
