"Cafe Dining Cars" has been painted
so many times that you never know what to expect when driving by
this roadside diner car on Central California's Highway 101 near
Buellton in Santa Barbara County just over an hour north of the city
of Santa Barbara. Having hosted more than its fair share of movie
sets for the filming of movies and television shows, the diner is
usually closed with curtains drawn. But that doesn't mean nobody's
home. You just can't visit or dine there because isn't open to the
public and doesn't serve food.
Sporting parallel train cars
used as the exterior walls and living space between them, a roof
covers this structure that's apparently somebody's home. The
structure is surrounded by beautiful oak trees, rolling hills and
lawns.
