Located atop a hill on the side of a
cliff, this beach resort enjoys golf nearby, beaches with protected coves
and a little-known secret (a naturist beach at Pirate's Cove.) While there
are actually resorts in Palm Desert Resorts where you can play tennis or do
anything you want au natural, here in Avila Beach the weather tends to be a
pleasant 65 to 75 degrees and you'll need to wear your tennis attire or
casual wear to stay here and play tennis.
The area is located not far from Cal
Poly at San Luis Obispo, Pismo Beach, Hearst Castle in San Simeon, Morro Bay
with the Morro Rock and to the south, Buellton, Solvang and Santa Barbara.
You'll be hard pressed to find a more scenic location with tennis weather to
beat any on the globe. Sure, some players like to sweat, but this is a cool,
comfortable climate where you simply feel energized and ready to play.
