If you're reminded
of a charming English village when visiting Cambria on the Central
California coast, get out your appetite for authentic British tea, scones,
finger sandwiches, hearty stews and meals at The Tea Cozy in Cambria's East
Village.
One of our favorite
eateries, “The Tea Cozy” in a cute 1890 cottage at 4286 Bridge St., is owned
and operated by Barry and Lee Anne Went, who offer European hospitality and
charm in one of California's favorite destinations. Traditional British
lunches, tea and hospitality that makes every guest feel extra special, are
the keys to success in this colorful restaurant with the white picket fence.
Bring your appetite!
Lee Anne’s Guinness Pie is to die for. Ploughman's Lunch and Cornish Pasty
break away from the mold and complaints that British food is boring.
Infusing her sauces with locally grown fruits and vegetables, the chef
creates a delicate, perfect blend of flavors in everything from
freshly-prepared entrees to the freshest salads and dressings. The only
thing predictable about the preparations are that they'll be delicious.
Numerous tasty teas,
desserts and British ambience at this charming Tea Room north of Main Street
is a must stop. (www.teacozy.com)
