Sycamore Cove
Beach in Ventura County sits to the back drop of mountains that separate the
cities of Ventura such as Camarillo from the ocean to the west. Five miles
of ocean and beautiful beaches in this southern portion of Ventura County
near the Los Angeles County line feature scenic, sandy coves with bleached
driftwood strewn along the sand, providing picture perfect photo
opportunities for those with camera in hand.
Sycamore
Canyon Beach provides an entry point to sycamore Canyon campsites. 50 sites
located in the Santa Monica Mountains a short distance from Los Angeles
metropolitan area feature shoreline, with rocky bluffs, rugged hills and
uplands, two major river canyons and wide grassy valleys containing
sycamores, oaks and a few native walnuts. There are more than 70 miles of
hiking and biking trails. The beach also features swimming and surf fishing.
Boney Mountains State Wilderness Area is part of this urban refuge. The
13,300-acre park includes pinnacles worn and jagged from years of wear.
The beach is 15 miles south of Oxnard on Highway One.
