Sycamore Cove State Beach - Ventura County, California Beaches

Sycamore Cove Beach in Ventura County sits to the back drop of mountains that separate the cities of Ventura such as Camarillo from the ocean to the west. Five miles of ocean and beautiful beaches in this southern portion of Ventura County near the Los Angeles County line feature scenic, sandy coves with bleached driftwood strewn along the sand, providing picture perfect photo opportunities for those with camera in hand.

Sycamore Canyon Beach provides an entry point to sycamore Canyon campsites. 50 sites located in the Santa Monica Mountains a short distance from Los Angeles metropolitan area feature shoreline, with rocky bluffs, rugged hills and uplands, two major river canyons and wide grassy valleys containing sycamores, oaks and a few native walnuts. There are more than 70 miles of hiking and biking trails. The beach also features swimming and surf fishing. Boney Mountains State Wilderness Area is part of this urban refuge. The 13,300-acre park includes pinnacles worn and jagged from years of wear.

The beach is 15 miles south of Oxnard on Highway One. For more information about the park, please call ( 805) 488-5223. Also visit the web site,parks.ca.gov
