MARRIOTT RANCHO SANTA BARBARA
555 MCMURRAY
ROAD, BUELLTON
CALIFORNIA 93427
UNITED STATES
As you whiz along Highway 101, you'll notice
the signs for Buellton (home to Andersen's famous split pea soup) and Solvang
(the Danish community). What you might also observe are windmills
on buildings, McDonald's, Taco Bell, gas stations, grocery shopping and
all the familiar conveniences of modern life, which include the Marriott
pictured above. It doesn't look like this from the freeway and we
were pleasantly surprised to walk around the hotel and discover a beautiful
place that would be a pleasant place to stay on travels between Los Angeles
and San Francisco, or just a weekend vacation to Solvang and the Central
Coast wine country. Nice decor, well kept grounds and friendly staff were
things we enjoyed, but the views of the mountains were the best treat of
all.
Located not far from Solvang downtown shopping, two missions,
dozens of wineries, Lompoc flower fields, Santa Barbara, historic Los Alamos,
Santa Ynez and Los Olivos, Chumash Indian Casino, plus two favorite
dinner spots, AJ Spurs and Hitching Post (both serve great filet mignon),
you might consider staying at this Buellton hotel on your next drive.
