Sunset Beach--When the sun goes down over the Pacific Ocean in Sunset Beach, the two story houses take on a golden glow. Unique architecture from the early-to mid 20th century provide a charm and character to this 1 mile town in Orange County, California.

The bright red building seen as the third and most distant of a row is a barber shop next to Mother's Bar on Pacific Coast Highway. The building is distinctive for it red paint and white trim that matches Mother's next door.

Like so many other cities along the California coast, these older, unique buildings are being torn down, one by one, and replaced with beautiful new structures. This is especially true along the oceanfront where cottages turn into castles before your eyes.
