Soak City - Buy Tickets!
Soak City is owned and operated by the
same company that owns Knotts Berry Farm, Cedar Fair, LLP. Located next to Knottt's Berry
Farm in Buena Park California in Orange County, Soak City is a well-designed
and spotless looking (as in clean) water park located across Beach Boulevard
from Knott's Berry Farm and within view of GhostRider wooden roller coaster.
Located right next to a brick-by-brick replica of Independence Hall, complete
with cracked, 2,075-pound Liberty Bell, Soak City charges admission for
those seeking a wild, wet day of fun. The prices is around $30 for adults
(check their web site for exact fees) plus a parking fee.
The
popularity of Knotts Berry Farm, one of the
Top 10 California theme parks,
helped spin off the water park across the street. Open every day during the
summer and on a limited basis the rest of the year, its neat beach themes
bring a bit of Cool California to the warmer, inland Buena Park 10 miles
from the beach where temperatures range in the hot 80 degrees range in the
summer.
There are 13
water-logged acres packed with 21 water
rides, all themed to the surf woodies and longboards of the 1950s Southern
California coast. 7 tubes
and body slides, Malibu Run for Rincon, Dropoff, WaveChaser, Heavy Swell,
Typhoon, Tornado and Cyclone atop Laguna Storm Watch Tower provide expeinces
akin to what the Southern California beaches used to offer nearly 100 years
ago with Salt Water Plunges that were very popular. Technology has
improved the thrill quite a bit with pipes exacted for sharp turns and
dips. This isn't your great grandma's plunge she remembers. Thrill
seekers today are headed for space with places like Soak City just a stop
along the way in life's training ground.
The park features rides such as Old Man's
Falls, challenge Pipeline, Point Break, Riptide, Rincon, Wave Chaser, Laguna Storm Water Tower, Typhoon, Tornado, Cyclone Three,
Banzai Falls Six (6) multi-lane speed slides where riders are dispatched
head first on a mat from a platform over 41 feet high, Tidal Wave Bay
750,000 gallon Wave Pool, Sunset River Lazy river approximately 1/3 miles
long for the whole family, Gremmie Lagoon Children's pool and activity area,
Toyota® Beach House Family funhouse and Toyota® Beach House "Slides" Two (2)
Slides.
Several family gathering spots such as Sparkletts® Sunset River
and a children's playground called Gremmie Lagoon, plus the four-story
Toyota® Beach House are ideal for birthdays, kids' days and family outings.
Soak City is opened daily beginning around Memorial Day
(end of May) and extending through Labor Day (in September). The
rest of the year, the action occurs mostly on Saturdays and Sundays.
