Seal Beach Community Pool at McGaugh school,
Seal Beach Blvd. @ Bolsa Avenue, was built in 1964 but recently re-plastered
re-tiled and the deck resurfaced. The chemical tanks were replaced, too,
and a new electrical system was installed.
The pool is 25 yards in length, has 6 lanes for lap swimming
and a section for water exercises. The water is maintained at a warm
80 degrees F., there's an outdoor warm water shower and limited dressing
rooms.
Why to live in Seal Beach? A great community lap
pool open year round with outdoor workouts (lets the chlorine smell dissipate).
The day I took this photo, there were 2 lanes open. How do you qualify
for the lap swim? Residents can purchase Swim Passes at the Recreation
Office on 211 Eighth Street.
Youth Lap Swim, Fall Swim Lessons, Aquacise, Deep Water
Aerobics and Seal Beach Swim Team are integral to the community swim program.
