Santa Monica is not lacking for fine hotel properties.
If only other beach cities were so lucky! Of the nicer hotels, this
one seems to be a good value.
For starters, you get warm, baked cookies as you check in (if you ask)
and when you go to bed. The suites are within view of the beach and
the exercise facilities are really neat, overlooking the Santa Monica Pier
and Ferris wheel.
The suites have one of the nicest computer / office work
desks in any hotel. As you exit your room, you are never stuck in
any dark or long hallways. You are always within view of the lobby
pictured. This is a nice feature for anyone who thinks about security
issues. The Doubletree Guest Suites Santa Monica is
a short four-block walk to the beautiful Southern California coastline,
local galleries, boutiques, restaurants and cafes that make Santa Monica an
international trendsetter. Easy access to the Santa Monica freeway puts
Beverly Hills, Westwood, Century City, downtown Los Angeles, UCLA,
Pepperdine, USC, Hollywood and Los Angeles International Airport just
minutes away.
With the Pacific Ocean as a
spectacular backdrop, each of our one-bedroom suites offers a world of
comforts and conveniences, especially the most important luxury of all -
extra space! Additional amenities include a wet bar with fully stocked honor
bar, coffee maker, high-tech multifunctional work desk with two-line speaker
phones, complimentary high-speed wireless internet access, sofa bed, and two
remote controlled televisions featuring a full compliment of channels,
pay-per-view movies, music channels, play-station games and web-tv internet
access.
You can start your day off at the
Fourth Street Grille offering a full breakfast and lunch buffet as well as a
full menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our Cafe Pronto serves specialty
coffee drinks featuring Wolfgang Puck's Signature coffee as well as a large
variety breakfast pastries. Should you prefer a more private experience,
in-suite dinning is available between the hours of 6:00 am to 11:00 pm. Our
Concierge staff will be happy to assist you with personal arrangements at
local restaurants, theaters, tours and local attractions. As a guest of our
hotel, you can enjoy complimentary access to our fully equipped Fitness
Center that includes state-of-the-art electronic exercise machines, weight
machines and sauna. We even have two massage chairs to help you unwind after
a hard day at work or a strenuous work out. Work on you tan under the
California sun and take time out on a relaxing chaise beside our outdoor
pool. Our convenient underground garage allows you to choose from either
self to valet parking. Whether your visit is for work, play or just

There's a restaurant and a nice bar which also makes great
coffee drinks such as espressos. The staff is super. One person making
my coffee gave me a pain reliever from her purse for free. That was
very nice of her.
Large groups of tour buses pulled up to the hotel as I left. It
is popular with Europeans and Asians because the price and quality
are especially nice. You must pay for a shuttle ride from LAX and
it costs around $15 with tip, unless you rent a car. Once there,
you can walk to everything and the public buses go most places you need
to go.
Other very nice properties in Santa Monica include the
Fairmont, Georgian, Loews, Shutters and Casa del Mar.
