California Shopping
Santa Barbara, Calif.—One
of California's great downtown shopping districts is Santa Barbara's
State Street. Offering an ideal mix of chain stores such as Saks and
Nordstrom's and Samy's Camera, 614 Chapala St., (805)
963-7269, plus boutiques, dining, books at Barnes & Noble
Booksellers, 829 State St. (805) 962-8509, and attractive
bookshelves to store those written works at One Beach Road,
1118 State St. (805) 962-9379, art and upscale jewels, stones and
glass items, it's one of the great outdoor experiences. The trend in
shopping is outdoor, open-air shopping and State Street
offers that experience. It's gone through many transitions but has
addressed the issues and always managed to rally to new heights.
Services such as
the electric bus that travels up and down the shopping district,
connecting to hotels, lots of colorful street signs and banners,
plenty of safe cross walks, quality restroom facilities and
additional attractions such as Santa Barbara Art Museum make the
shopping a pleasure.
