Located in San Mateo County in the City of Burlingame, San Francisco Airport features landings and take-offs over water in the bay area. The airport is surrounded by quality, business class hotels, and is outside the city of San Francisco by just a few miles. Incredibly convenient as big city airports go, flights into San Francisco number in the millions (upwards 15 million annually). While San Francisco Airport is certainly the quickest, direct flight to access one of the favorite cities, beloved by international travelers, bay area fog has been known to delay flights on occasion, so you should prepare for that possibility if flying in for meetings, cruise departures and connecting flights. On a clear day when you can see the bay, you can truly be swept away with a love of the landscape as you arrive by air. It's easy to leave your heart in San Francisco. The airport itself, offers a few amenities people take for granted. Great breads, sandwiches, snack shops and small bars at the airport offer pretty decent food, and there are even a few gifts that aren't too bad if you must buy a present for someone you left at home.
